We never grew up receiving the so called “shopping allowance.” I am the fourth child of my parents and I have four other siblings. I made that the reason why our parents never practiced giving us money to spend for the things that we want whenever we ask for it.
Is shopping allowance really necessary even if the family is rich?
Way back in College as a growing young adult I would save up on my allowance so I can buy something for myself at the end of the week or if I have saved enough for what I wanted.
I’ve been a fashion lover ever since I got conscious of how I look. But to keep up with the newest trend even if I don’t ask for money from my mom, what I do is, I re-do my clothes. Yes, I make adjustment on my clothes, ask for my elder’s clothing and do something with it.
One time, I asked my eldest sister for her long white skirt with printed flowers on it since she doesn’t wear it anymore. What I did was I cut the length of the skirt up to knee length so it would look better on me.
Being kikay or a fashionista doesn’t always go with money. Sometimes, all we need is creativity and resourcefulness. On our own means we can get what we want even without spending too much. You just have to carry yourself and be proud of what you have so others would feel how great you feel in what you are wearing.
It’s our aura that attracts the attention of someone. They can tell whether we are pissed or we are feeling good about that day. So always feel good about yourself no matter if someone told you that you look lousy on what you are wearing, just smile and never mind if people says something you don’t like.
